Statement by the Organization for War, Labor, and Armed Forces Veterans of the Republic of Azerbaijan
The Organization for War, Labor, and Armed Forces Veterans of the Republic of Azerbaijan issued a statement addressed to veterans around the world regarding the terrorist attack of Iran in Azerbaijan on March 5, 2026. The statement reads:
"On March 5, 2026, the drone strikes by the Islamic Republic of Iran on Nakhchivan Airport, as well as on other civilian infrastructure, rightly provoked strong outrage and resolute protest from the Azerbaijani people.
The unprovoked harm to civilians by the Iranian state and the commission of a clear terrorist act on the territory of Azerbaijan not only contradict international law but also constitute a flagrant violation of moral and spiritual values and humanitarian principles." The Organization for War, Labor, and Armed Forces Veterans declares that the drone attack on Nakhchivan is a crime against all humanity and calls on the international community and veterans worldwide to condemn this terrorist act.
The international community's outcry over Iran's terrorist attack not only exemplifies moral support for the Azerbaijani people, but also will have a great importance in preventing similar terrorist attacks against other states in the future.
We believe that, under pressure and insistence from the international community, Tehran officials will apologize to Azerbaijan for this terrorist attack and take practical steps to punish the perpetrators.
